Creme of Nature 7 in 1 Leave In Conditioner

Standard

I truly feel as if Summer 2014 has allowed me to discover some of the best hair care products around. I really have been searching for a spray leave in that actually hydrates my hair! I’ve tried the Carol’s Daughter Black Vanilla Leave In and it didn’t moisturize my hair when wet. I’ve tried Giovanni’s Direct Leave In and it worked pretty good but I needed something more. I loved Eden’s All Natural Coconut Shea though and thought I could never find anything to compare. Wrong. This leave in conditioner is SO MOISTURIZING! And, it’s a spray leave in which is my preference. It delivers on all 7 of it’s claims: Detangles & Conditions, Heat Protection, Breakage Defense, Controls Frizz, Moisturizes Dry Hair, Prevents Split Ends And Adds Exotic Shine. Yea, it does allllathat! This is a product that I will surely repurchase. I got this from a product swap but it can be purchased at Walgreens for $8 for 4.5 oz.

INGREDIENTS

Aqua (Water) , Cetearyl alcohol , Behentrimonium Chloride , fragrance , CyclopentaSiloxane , panthenol , Isopropyl Alcohol , Quaternium-80 , propylene glycol , Disodium EDTA , Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil , Silk Amino Acids , Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate , Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane , Hydroxyisohexyl 3-Cyclohexene Carboxaldehyde , PHenoxyethanol , methylisothiazolinone

HOW I USE IT

After a shampoo and condition, I spray this on my damp hair using a wide tooth comb to detangle. If I’m doing a wash and go, I put a small amount of coconut oil and a curl defining creme and air dry or defuse. If I’m heat styling, I simply apply a small amount of coconut oil to my ends and begin to heat style.

Also, for MEN who need a beard grooming product, USE.THIS. It’s seems a little non traditional but I use it on my boyfriend’s beard and it keeps it hydrated and moisturized for no less than 2 days!

If you want a male’s opinion, then feel free to read this blog post.

SheaMoisture Three Butters Styling Smoothie

Standard

This product, part of the new SheaMoisture male grooming line, focuses on “deeply conditioning and restoring moisture to dry, dull hair. Smoothing and defining all curl patterns, from wavy to tight curls and leaving hair with a healthy natural shine.” Using this product on my boyfriend, I find that it does leave his facial (beard) hair with a shine and restores SOME moisture BUT I do feel like it could be more hydrating. I had to use another product in combination with this one in order to provide more hydration to his hair. As you can see from the picture comparison below, this product did work to detangle his hair and make it appear fuller. So, I would recommend this product to any males that would like their facial hair (or regular hair) to look fuller and shinier with a adequate amount of moisture.

INGREDIENTS

Deionized Water, Butyrospermum Parkii(Shea Butter) *, Cocos Nucifera(Coconut) Oil*, Macadamia Ternifolia Sed oil, Mangifera Indica (Mango) Seed Butter*, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Vegetable glycerin, Aloe barbadensis Leaf extract, Silk Protein, Ammonium salt, Melia Azadirachta (Neem ) Seed Oil, Sorbitol Esters, Panthenol (Pro-Vitamin B-5), Caprylyl glycol, Cinnamonium Cassia, Citrus Recticulata, Vanilla Planifolia, Essential Oil Blend, Lonicera Caprifolium (honey suckle) Flower (and) Lonicera Japonica( Japanese Honeysuckle) Flower Extract, Tocopherol(Vitamin E) *Certified Organic Ingredient

HOW TO USE IT

I generally use this on his facial hair after spraying with Oyin Go Tea Handmade Spray. I use this spray to detangle his facial hair with a wide tooth comb. Afterwards, I mix this product with a small amount of coconut oil and Dark & Lovely Au Naturale Super Softening Hair Butter. The end result? Super soft facial hair!

SheaMoisture African Black Soap Facial Wash & Scrub

Standard

This scrub, part of the new SheaMoisture male grooming line, is meant to focus on “addressing ingrown hairs, razor bumps, razor burn and dark spots while providing a rich and luxuriously close shaving experience.” After using this product on my boyfriend, several times, I believe it works! The Jojoba Beads gently exfoliate skin and raise hair. African Black Soap and Kaolin Clay deeply cleanse, open pores and detoxify skin. Organic African Shea Butter moisturizes and soothes skin. Black Seed Oil, Willow Bark extract and Vitamin A help to prevent razor bumps and irritation.

While I have yet to see a huge difference in ingrown hairs, I will say that it does minimize dark spots AND leaves his skin super soft afterwards! Thus, it really is getting rid of dead skin cells and cleaning the face! I purchased this product at Target for $11 for 4 fl oz.

INGREDIENTS

African black soap, shea butter, coconut oil, deionized water, sodium lauroyl lactylate (coconut oil), glycerine, cetyl alcohol, myristyl alcohol, potassium hydroxide, mango oil, myristic acid (palm oil), coconut fatty acids, polysorbate, jojoba beads, black seed oil, willowbark extract, alpha bisabolol (chamomile extract), essential oil blend, salicylic acid, sodium lactate, rosemary extract, japanese honeysuckle extract.

HOW TO USE IT

This facial wash and scrub is to be used like any other cleanser/exfoliator. You can either apply to your palms, rub together and apply to a damp face OR apply to an exfoliating facial pad and apply to a damp face. I prefer to use an exfoliating facial pad but, if you have sensitive skin, it’s best to just use your hands. Rinse and voila, soft exfoliated purified skin!

SheaMoisture Tea Tree After Shave & Bump Preventer

The Tea Tree Oil promotes healing with naturally anti-septic properties. Lastly, the Aloe moisturizes and calms dry, sensitive skin. I’ve used this product on my boyfriend several times and feel that, after exfoliation, it does work to prevent bumps and soothe freshly shaved skin. I purchased this product at Target for $10 for 4oz.

INGREDIENTS

Shea Oil, Witch Hazel, Aloe Vera, Willowbark Extract, Alpha Bisabolol (Chamomile Extract), Panthenol (Vitamin B), Peppermint Extract, Tea Tree Oil, Vitamin A, Vitamin E, Shea Butter, Birchwood Sap, Jojoba Oil, Olive Oil, Grapefruit Extract, Essential Oil Blend *Certified Organic Ingredient

HOW TO USE IT

This product is meant to be used after a fresh shave. Place a dime sized amount onto palm, rub together, and apply evenly to skin that has just been shaved. This product can also be used, daily, on skin that has not been shaved that same day but is regularly shaved.

Oyin Handmade Go Tea All in One Grooming Spray

Standard

Recently, I’ve been on the hunt for grooming sprays for my boyfriends beard. This could be because I’m a product junkie that loves wants to expand my interests OR it could just be because I’m Jayonce “Drunk in Love” and want my man’s hair to look and be as healthy as mine. Probably both haha.
In all seriousness, a lot of hair care lines that mainly center around females, are beginning to expand their product line and focus on male grooming products. Namely, SheaMoisture and Oyin Handmade. I did purchase three SheaMoisture male products for him which I WILL review, with pictures, for all my male followers but for now, let me start with Oyin. I purchased this product on the Oyin website for $8 for 4 oz.

INGREDIENTS

water, vegetable glycerine, organic aloe vera juice, olive oil, polysorbate 20, behentrimonium methosulfate (emulsifier derived from colza oil), optiphen (preservative), jojoba oil, olive squalane, fragrance, tea tree & lavender essential oils.

HOW HE USES IT

I, and my boyfriend, really do love this product! After he washes his face, I have him apply a moisturizer to his face. Afterwards, I spray this Oyin Handmade Go Tea Spray on his beard and begin to detangle with a wide tooth comb, at first, and then I spray a few more pumps and use a small toothed comb. Instantly, his beard feels softer and is WAY more manageable. Then, I finish with the Au Naturale Anti Breakage Root to Tip Mender (recently reviewed on my blog) OR the new SheaMoisture Shea Butter Beard Softener and Skin Protector. They both work wonders and seal in all the moisture that the Go Tea Spray provides! I will post pictures of my before and after, when I use it on my boyfriend, but for right now–TRUST ME guys, it works!
