I need you all to understand that this product seriously repairs dry and damaged hair! This product is GREAT for chemically treated hair (relaxed, colored, too much heat) and also for naturalistas, curly heads and those that are transitioning. BUT while it does repair and strengthen hair IT essentially hardens hair, similar to a protein treatment. I’ve used this as a deep conditioner and haven’t loved the results. To me a deep conditioner should moisturize hair, not harden. So, I’ve switched to using it as a pre-poo treatment mixed with any of my DIY mixtures (found here. This works out better as it provides a better balance between protein and moisture but please believe there are better deep treatment masques out there. I got this product from Walgreens for $10 for 12 oz.

HOW I USE IT
The instructions on this product say to apply generously and use a wide tooth comb to distribute evenly from roots to ends, leaving on for 5 minutes. 30 minutes, with a plastic cap, if you want deeper penetration. They also state that you can add extra virgin olive oil to the masque for additional nutrients and moisture. I’ve tried this and it really does work and gives better slip!
Now, when I use this product, I like to section my hair into fours and apply to each section, mixing with a bit of coconut oil. This product does not have a lot of slip so the coconut oil aids in detangling. I like to keep this product on for 30 minutes, and sit under my hair steamer. The hair steamer allows for maximum penetration as the steam gently lifts the hair’s cuticle. After 30 minutes have expired, just rinse and enjoy the softness of your hair!
